I am in the midst of having an EFI conversion done. I want to install a 23 gallon tank with a submersed pump. I have talked with Jake at Aero, he will install the pump if I send it to him.

There are many pumps out there, any recommendations on best of class, need 60psi?

Thank you in advance.

I have been running these Bosch pumps, https://www.summitracing.com/parts/...yGrUIBrdfYh24wAjtfCKwB5XLd7GsnYIaAnEPEALw_wcB , for some time on all my EFI conversions, they are quiet and have given no problems. 60psi is no prob for these pumps, I am using one on my 2000 explorer conversion which needs ~ 62psi, one on my 92 Mustang conversion which needs ~38 psi and one on my GF's FI-tech Bronco which needs ~58 psi, as long as the regulator is good you will have no probs

Just be sure to go with a name brand... In this day and age it is hard to find anything american made... Just stay away from "off or no name brands"

The in tank pump is not that hard to do yourself...

Aero BR-23... The list price on the website for the rear replacement tank is $395.00 with no options. Tanks come with a Bronco specific sending unit and some hook up hose. There is an additional cost for EFI and you have to supply the in-tank pump for EFI. Usually a Mustang style pump.
There are a few other options than can be included. Skid plate option is one that is available. You can leave the mounting brackets off, so that you can weld them on yourself for a custom fit or they can mount them for you: stock position, 1" body, 2" body, 3" body lifts.

I have done 3 mass buy purchases on Norcalbroncos.com from Aero.
As a group, we have completed 5 mass buys over the years. Members here on Classic completed a Mass buy a year or so ago. (Suggest you do a Search to review comments) I personally have installed 5 rear tanks and one side tank (I don't like how it is mounted) from Aero. I have also done a NWMP tank many years ago. I like the Aero Tank. It is not a Pretty tank, but it is rugged.

Bah, I must have missed the last mass buy. :) What does the mass buy net you? Reduced shipping? I figured I'd wait to buy until I thought I'd be in the San Bernadino area.

You might be able to save a buck or two and go external. I'm running external using a stock bronco tank and it's been trouble free for almost 2 years now. I don't see a reason to go EFI tank and internal pump but most will disagree.

I have done one external pump as well... The Owner did not want to replace his single tank. But now that he has driven it Oregon and had to make 5 stops to fill the 14 gal tank, he wishes that he had gone with a larger one. %)

Oh I agree.....I want a bigger tank. I should have been more clear. Order the standard Aero Bronco tank and not pay the extra to have it setup for EFI and in tank pump. Run the external. Easier to change on the fly too. Carry an extra and 5 minutes be back up and running.

I plan to run an Aero in the future but right now no long trips for me so small tank works for now.

I just ordered an Aero tank. Very easy to work with, except no AN fittings... I was waiting for a Sherman tank, but was told it may be March, so I went with Aero. Same story at Jeff's.

To answer your question, I have never had a problem with a Walbro pump, but for some reason I ordered an Aero motive Stealth 340. I would NOT recommend an external pump, unless you run an accumulator. I have replaced too many and I have never replaced an internal Walbro.

Thank you everyone for your input, ordered the tank today and having an internal Walbro delivered to Jake at Aero. Pump should be delivered next week and hopefully the tank the next week. The saga continues to make progress.

Here is a pic of mine. I did the mass buy 2 years ago. Agree find the thread and read. Some notes from memory they may add cost but things that would help with most installs. Jake was easy to work with and up front. He is also good about some custom option with reasonable costs.

Leave brackets loose and weld in field. Yes the adjustable mounting system are nice but make tank more narrow and deeper. I did lower capacity about 17.5 gallon for more ground clearance and I'm happy some prefer the 23. Yes its not pretty but 2yrs of use and no issues. I recomend skid plate unless you plan on gabbing one yourself. Ask to recess sender and efi pickup if you get one for more clearance to underside of bed. Ask to increase supply to 3/8". Also ask for return AND vent with rollover valve. This is in addition to fill pipe and 5/8" fill vent hose.
Clean tank before use. Take time and properly adjust/test sender. Be sure to use submersible hose in tank of needed and use some type of sock or foam pickup. Paint before install.

However you decide to do the EFI pump... If you do an external, Areo will for a small fee add a (my term) "Slosh Box" around the pick up tube in the tank to prevent starvation with severe angles or low fuel levels.

can someone post a picture of a 23 gallon AREO tank.

Is the sender unit recesses on that tank, I was thinking the lower capacity tank that they changed from a recess to flush mount and after mounting you gain no ground clearance because it cant be mounted as high am I correct on this?

Did you order a intank filter for the pump too?

the stock mustang filter I had did not fit the walbro pump, I ordered a sock from APE to fit it.

I was an external guy once, then I installed an internal. no more noise.
It was a progressive move, got old, exhaust was too loud, quieted it down then pump was too loud.
