After market hard top headliner??

After many months of being told by Bronco Hut that the 3-piece fiberglass headliner inserts I had ordered from them were "almost ready to ship", it turns out that they have no product to ship and will not be able to fill the order (refunded already, so they took care of that pronto). I do understand that covid-related supply-chain issues with resin, etc. are real. That said it was a big bummer as I could have used the time waiting for them to fail to figure out another solution.

My goal is to install a nice headliner, alcantara perhaps, and realize I need something a bit sturdier than the stock cardboard-like headliner as a starting point.

I'm hoping someone here might have some advice on what has worked in the past for a nice, high-end finish look to a headliner.

Thanks,

Doug

I am building a half cab, not a full top, but maybe this gives you an idea. I am using abs plastic. I bought a 4x8 sheet at local plastics shop and cut to size based on templates I made. I'm trying to enclose or panel full top so I have more pieces than if you were just trying to build a replacement headliner like stock. I'm using a foam backed “suede” headliner material to cover it, link below. I still have to make some panels once the cage is in but these were the major pieces so far.
