AGR Perf. steering pump

Is anyone running one of these? I was digging through my pile'o'parts and found one the other day. Currently, I'm running a Sag. pump w/double returns for a 4x4x2 box and hydroboost. Everything seems to work fine, but I wonder if it could work better...The cost to me would be the trouble of installation, so pretty low...Any thoughts?

Pretty tough to beat the Saginaw pump for both reliability, cost and availability. The AGR pumps are based on the late model GM unit if I'm not mistaken with remote reservoir, and while not bad pumps, I wouldn't swap out the Saggy unless I had a good reason to. Now if you're adding hydro-assist and need to add an external reservoir/filter/cooler, then I might consider it...but maybe not.

I was thinking of their TC pump...you must have a P-Series or Super Pump? Easy to install, so I'd say keep it around as a spare and toss it in if you add hydro-assist steering for the additional volume it should provide.

Unless something is broke or not performing up to expectations - I would say keep the new pump on the sideline until there is a reason to replace.

Personally every time I end up attempting to replace something 'just because', it always seems to lead down a rabbit hole of having to work on something else. Pretty sure it is the Bronco god's teaching me a lesson on happiness and being content.

I run the same setup as you currently and am in the middle mounting a Hydro assist ram. I hope its enough pressure and volume, everything I've read seems to sway that way.
I'm so far down the damn rabbit hole and there's no end in sight, so I guess one more thing wouldn't matter..

When I talked to them last month when I ordered my new steering box. There were two guys that owned it. I have talked to both real nice guys.

I think I read it on here years ago that the guy or guys sold the agr name back when the mass advertising started.
