That’s an interesting wiring diagram for an explorer. I didn’t think that there was the white with black S wire included.
In a nutshell, for the Bronco to get it working, without an indicator light, the following will get you going.
1. The yellow with white wire has battery voltage at all times.
It should run back to the starter relay as shown in the diagram above. But most people simply jump it over to the big battery stud on the alternator. That’s easier, and kind of on the lazy side, but it does have the annoying aspect of actually working. In most cases…
2. The green with red stripe wire has 12 V only with the key in the on position. (Not when an ACC by the way)
Connect this to the ignition switch they are the old green with red wire from the old regulator on the fender or firewall.
3. If there is a white with black stripe wire included in your connector, that is only for a 3G alternator. It is not used on the explorer 4G.
But perhaps the early models included that?
I think 96 (upon which the diagram is based) was the first year for the V8. So maybe it does have a connector.
However, if there is no matching port on the side of the alternator, then just leave the white with black wire off.
No matter what you have, a picture would help.
