Hotwheels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, why would you want to know that for?
To answer, any thermometer with an accurate gauge will work, I just have to
know why a meat thermomoter ?
ive been using the same meat thermometer since 78, it still works after one marriage and many a radiator, I have been eying the lazer temp readers though, wanting to know many differant temps.
I realize this will pry sound stupid but where do you put the meat thermometer to check the temp? Do you take the cap off and put it in the coolant or stick it in the fins or.....?
Thanks,
Dan
Dunno about the others, but I lay mine along the top radiator hose. Wrap it with a shop rag to make sure the thermometer is at the same temp as the hose. Then I use a tie-wrap to keep it all in place.
Check your other gauges and see if they're off as well. I've seen pictures of the back of the IVR (never noticed when I had my gauge cluster out) that showed an adjustment. If you find that your oil pressure and gas gauge are reading high as well, you might want to try to adjust the IVR.
Or you could just use this as an excuse for a new toy! ;D
