Another leak

I am battling another leak, and I can’t figure it out. My transfer case is leaking from what I believe the Speedo cable? I have a Dakota digital gauge. I tried to tighten the but, and it caused it to leak more, and just spin, if never got tight, it just spun. Uploading a photo now, only one I have right now. The silver area cut off on the photo...
