I've done a bit of googling on this and can't seem to find results and reviews on applying Raptor liner with a high density foam roller. I've seen plenty of spray on and normal foam roller applications, but I'm specifically looking to use a high density foam roller. I don't like the lumps and chunks that spraying or normal rollers create. see the pic below. I like the finish on the right side.

i figured i'd post up here and see if anyone has experience using a high density roller. I'd like to apply it to my new bumpers... again going for a finish thats closer to the below. I just dont trust the Raptor liner advertisements that this same look is achieved by using a high density foam.

When I did my tub in Raptor, I called them for advice on how to prep and apply... best thing I ever did. Their tech support guy was excellent in handling my questions, resulting in a fantastic finish.

As a professional house painter, I don't see a way to apply something like Raptor liner with a roller and it look even on something like a Bronco. I could make it look good on a flat surface like a table top only.

I can get Raptor to lay pretty smooth shooting it at lower psi. Did my golf cart at low psi so it would be a more washable finish. The higher the psi it is thinner but results in more texture.

This is the texture at high psi like 130psi, the golf cart was like 60psi.

I was exploring this for another project and there are some brands that have different finish textures available. I'm not sure how they achieve that though.

Roller can come out real nice, I think even more consistent finish if done carefully. Pick a spot to get the hang of it. Buy extra rollers - wide and narrow and brushes. Rollers will deteriorate and swap out as soon as you see any issues.

Sprayed Raptor on a Yota project. We set the pressure according to the label and just went for it. I'd be curious if you could spray it to get it to lay on, then use the roller to adjust the texture. It seemed to dry pretty fast though, so don't dilly dally.

Thats probably not a bad idea, spray it and then smooth it with a 6" cigar roller.

You could also call them and ask if maybe reducing it 25% with a thinner they recommend would make it smoother.
