Awesome tunnel cover...

One bit of input; invest in a brake of some sorts. You could have bent that sheet as one piece instead of weld stitching together (which looks beautiful by the way). Swagoffroad make a sweet shop press brake attachment, but even a simple sheet-metal brake would have worked in this case.

Nice work!

I thought about just using my work bench and some C-clamps to form the break but opted to TIG weld the 2 pieces together. There's a lot of tools I wish I owned at home but just have yet to get around to purchasing them. Someday I'll own an iron worker, press break, tubing bender, notcher, and a CNC plasma table but until then I'll make do with homebrew work around ideas ;D Appreciate the compliment xcntrk

Yes very nice job! There's always a tool or two you wish you had!

I have twin stick now on my d20 with the nv3550 and all three of the sticks come up through the top of the tunnel. It looks like yours are more left than mine. I wonder if that's the same with all atlas installs? Gonna have to research that a bit more.

Very nice indeed Bronckrawler---no wonder you know what 5p weld rod is---and the PPE ---extraordinary coolness--- home brew work around ideas--right LOL

I have my Atlas clocked in the stock location. The shifters are located similar to where the stock 3 speed would be if you converted it to the floor from the column. I would imagine all Atlas shifters, if clocked in the stock location, are located in the same location mine are.

The flatter you can clock it, the more the shifters will be towards the center of the tunnel. I put one behind a C4 and clocked it 14* up from stock, I still had the heat and bend the sticks to get them out the top of the tunnel, instead of the side. Cable shifters are ordered for this next install.

Would cable shifters allow you to clock it just about anywhere and stay in the top of the tunnel?

Cable shifters would allow you to clock the transfer case in any location and mount the shifters where you want them i.e. On top of tunnel cover, mounted on the dash, beside the driver side, etc.

Are you going to build a skid plate for your Atlas?

No plans at the moment to build one, not too worried about it either. I'm not taking my Bronco to the hammers anytime soon, eventually do the Rubicon, Dusy Ershim, and Moab. I just wanted a transfer case that's proven tough, offered lower gearing, and reliable. The drivability of my Bronco now with the NV3550 and Atlas is outstanding. My wife's '66 Bronco will be getting the same drivetrain.

Completed cover painted semi-gloss black with a shifter boot I bought from Wild Horses for the NV3550. I've since added a twin stick rubber boot to cover the shifters. The Tom Wood's driveshaft's were a great addition as well, highly recommend them for driveline needs!

Is that the standard or large boot from WH?
