Hey all, curious how everybody is attaching emblems. Got the barrel clip things for the studs on the emblems but the holes in the fender for some reason are too big. PO musta done something with them who knows. Anyway, curious if there’s any alternate methods people have done to attach them.

Thanks,

Seems like I got some barrel clips that had a little bigger O.D. size that still fit the emblem. I think I got them at my local Carquest, they have a good assortment of them. Wish I still had the package to confirm.

Some of the posts on mine were mangled, some were broken about half way, and some were broken off completely. Being the tightwad that I am, I threaded the full length and 1/2 length posts with a 6-32 die. I also replaced the broken off ones with 6-32X5/8" SS machine screws glued in with 3M Structural Adhesive. I installed the emblems with stainless #6 washers, lock washers and nuts. If you can't find the barrel clips, this is an option.

Hardcore.....I have one 302 emblem I’ll try this way. Good thinking!

I like using the stamped nuts , some call speed nuts, that other companies use. Those barrel clips would not work in mine after all the paint and primer build up and I didn't want to file on them. Mine came from 69 Camaro trunk emblems. They are a 1/8th inch stamped nut. Ken

Use the stamped nuts bronkenn mentioned. You can tighten them progressively to get the emblem to sit flat and tight against the panel. I run them on the emblem first off the car makes it easier to get the on when they are in place.
