I am putting a Tuffy console in my rig...it is very functional and it completely conceals the head unit. I do not like the look of a head unit in the dash unless it is stock.

Do you have a roll cage? If so, I ran dual over head sound bars. Was the best mod I did when I had my Jeep. One sound bar was behind the drivers seat, the other was in front near the windshield. Gave me enough sound I could hear my stock stereo at 85MPH with no top or doors.

Then, you could always upgrade the speakers. However, I'd go with the Tuffy console for the head unit and amp if you decided to go that route.

I'm not sure what look you're after, but kicker wakeboard speakers are extremely easy to install and you can remove them at any time. They also pump out a lot of volume. There is also no issue having the hardtop on.
