About to do auto swap on 72. Is it worth going with a deep pan or does it get in the way? Bronco is gonna be street and trail/ crawling. Just putting in a bronco c-4. Not a dd so not worried about going od right now. Also my radiator doesnt have a tranny cooler. Any suggestions on a good set up and where to put it?

The deep pans are nice, but with a pan-fill transmission it really makes you work to fit the dipstick tube up through all the little spaces a Bronco affords.

I think it's worth it. If you don't mind spending the money for a lokar dip stick that makes it easier but the stock dip stick tube will work. I have the B&M deep pan on mine that I built in 2005 and still going strong. I run a B&M cooler with a 7 inch fan on it mounted on top of the inner fender.

About to do the same setup on my other bronco, just got the transmission back from rebuild and had them put the same pan on it.

Ford had plenty of flat pans to use so why did they spend a whole lot of money to build and test a deep pan? I have only seen an issue once on the trail where someone was climbing a very steep bank and the tranny sucked air and the Bronco slipped backward and rolled over. he had a flat pan on the C-4. I forgot the name of the hill in Los Coyotes CA. it was a really steep SOB. a hill no one normally would attempt place has been closed now for over 20 years.
