Hello,

I am looking for an excellent transmission shop in the Portland Oregon area that really knows C4s. The C4 in my Bronco has the old A1 transmission low gear set (2.92 first gear) and a low stall speed torque converter in it. It has a shift kit and a BC Broncos kick down cable. The transmission has worked great for years until I had a shop do some various work on my Bronco as well as transmission service. When I got it back, it shifts from 1st to 2nd way to soon, and I don't feel the shift kit at all (the shifts were very firm before). Also, the kick down is not working as it was/should. I am not going back to the shop that did the work, sometimes it is best to call it and just move on.

Thanks,
Z Bronco

I unfortunately went to their shop in Gresham, they had it a month and really no work was done., not a good experience. I did get it back without a charge. Still looking for a shop that knows C4s.

Bummer dude... you just never know. They (in the Aloha shop) had mine for about a week and did excellent work.

Call Robert at CBM Designs in Milwaukie, he’s in SE PDX if you don’t know him already. He’s a specialty Bronco shop and I imagine has a good transmission guy on his team or knows where to go I would imagine due to all the restoration work he does. Old school mechanics are few and far between in PDX, and most mechanics working weren’t even born when these trucks were built.

Yeah... someone else on here recommended CBM to me for other work. I'll probably be going there soon. https://crazybroncoman.net/
