Backup light switch on manual transmission

I have a 76 that was originally on the tree. I have since moved the shifter to the floor and was wondering if that is why I don't have reverse lights.

My question is where is the back up light switch located? I apologize for the dumb question

Yep, under the hood at the end of the steering column housing, under the brake master cylinder. Little switch on a little bracket thingy that sometimes looks like it was an afterthought!

Some of us just re-use that switch in a new bracket and extend the wires under the floor, while others get new switches of their favorite type and extend the wires.

Either way works well.

It is on the driver side on the column right near the fire wall. Its hard to see at times but its there. I still have the column shift but maybe one day I'll move to the floor. Kind of a novelty to a lot of people.

I just hooked mine up to a lighted, toggle switch and mounted it under the steering column. You can flip it on and use it for rear aux lighting, if needed
