It looks like we are making headway. I will contact Bauman today. I hope we can get the $460 price they provided earlier this year.

I just got off the phone with Kevin at Bauman's. Here is the breakdown.

Retail = $620 (everything needed for 4r70w including controller, harness and loom kit)

Discount is dependent upon the number of people who actually make payment to Bauman's. Last group buy had 25 people committed but only 21 paid. Discount was based upon the 21 units which were paid for.

5-9 $ 75 discount
10-14 $100 discount
15-19 $125 discount
20 or more $150 discount.

They can't go any lower due to concerns about protecting their retailers.

So, only those individuals who are SERIOUSLY committed to participating in this mass buy should sign up. Just PM me with your personal info. That way I can call you when the time comes to make payment to Bauman's.

Thanks Guys,

Take your time guys, I'm at least a year from being ready for this thing. So obviously I'd rather wait until a lot of people commit.

Count me in!

I'm still in the middle of collecting everything for a 5.0 / 4R conversion but I'm in for the Optishift. I've been reading and reading on the EFI conversion. So far the setup that sounds best is 96 explorer motor and trans with a Mustang ECU and RJM harness. I've found 2 yards that have a 96 explorer to pull motor and trans from. The first yard wants $650 for motor and trans with 160k and no warranty. The second yard wants $1200 for both with 85k and a 90 day warranty. I talked him down to $1000. I'm thinking the extra $350 is worth the low mileage and warranty. I've scoured the Pick and Pull yards but no luck. Any advice? Is there a adaptor deal in the works?

A few orders came from other forums last time, may be worth spreading the word that another buy is happening. I'll post up on a few local ones.

can you put me on the list? Im with the person who said to wait a little until we can get a decent number of people for a larger discount unless someone is in a hurry to get their rig driving.

Okay Guys, we now have ten people wanting the Optishift. With this many individuals wanting this product, we are eligible for a $100 discount. By getting 10 more, we will save an additional $50 making the Optishift costing a total of $470. Do we want to wait for that or do we want to purchase now at $520? Can everyone on the list pay Bauman now if we proceed? What is the group consensus?
