BC Broncos AC install question

I'm doing a frame off that should be back from paint this week. I'll be installing the ac/heater unit that mounts to the firewall soon. Wondering what people have done as far as insulation, carpet, dynamat etc that they have mounted behind the unit before it installed to the firewall and what issues if any come up. Trying not to do this 4 or 5 times b4 getting it right. %)

Thanks Ed

I used The factory style fiberglass looking stuff behind the unit. It needs to be something slim or smashable.

Hose routing depends on where and what style of vent you choose.
Careful with your bends.
Be super careful with your defroster duct work. It will be brittle.

I had the same questions, I'll be running a soft top too with all new seals after a frame off. From what I've searched the A/C still does a great job with a soft top but curious about adding carpet too.

This might be a stupid question to ask a guy from Florida, but have you ever used the heater? I am unimpressed with the heat output of mine... Looking for feedback before I call BCB and ask them some questions... 192* thermostat in the motor.

Sorry if am highjacking the thread...

The BC unit's heat is pretty good but not as good as the fan and blower upgrade for the stock eb system.
As long as you INSULATE well you will be fine.
I run my heat through the vents instead of out the floor vent.

I am going to have seat heaters installed also on mine, you could go that route too.

All good stuff so far. did you run a "Y" off your heat port into your ac vent tubes?

No. The unit has multiple outs on top of it... 2 for defroster, 3 for vents, and 2 on bottom. One of which you have to install a deflector on it to get heat to the Drv side.
Lots of hoses in the dash and under

I just turn the blue/cooling knob up/warmer and the red/heating knob up/warmer then just flip the other dial to vent/dash instead of heat/floor.
In this warm mode the compressor automatically turns off, but if you want the defroster to work well you have to crank the blue/cool knob back up so the compressor comes on. This will likely reduce the heat level when you need the defroster the most.
I wouldn't know much about the heating mode here in Florida. I was sitting on a float in my pool on Christmas day 86°
