First off this is not a dig on Chuck or BC products just kinda venting because these things were a complete pain in arse to install. I didn't need the center part for starters because they would of been too long. The bends are well made but just don't work at least not on mine, if I didn't have the body lift they wouldn't of went in. I think they should split the front piece into two pieces as trying to get that piece in was a complete cluster eff, had to remove a body mount and go in from the outside because it just wasn't happening any other way.

Now that I've complained I am happy with them that they are in (of course they are replacing a garden hose basically care of the po) just not happy with the amount of tweaking that had to be done to make em work. Once again this is not a dig on BC.

I used their kits on both mine and had to re-bend both in places to make it work. It is a PITA, but I'm happy with the final product, once installed.

I've seen several installs, and most went perfectly well. Though one or two had more "fun" than expected too.
I will be working on an EB tomorrow in fact that the owner fortunately had no issues at all (EFI version) when installing his.

Isn't the center section to be used in case you only have one tank? And if you have two tanks, you don't use it? Or vice versa? Or is it simply for packaging reasons so that it's not too long for the box?
Do you have single or dual tanks? EFI or carb?

Single tank carb, you're supposed to remove it if you have an aux tank but they are way too long with it.

Like I said its a good product just a pita, based on some folks I would say they aren't very consistent with the bends

I put one in a few months ago. Huge pain in the butt , lots more bending and finessing than I was hoping for from a premade kit. Worst part was navigating around my oem proportioning valve.

Glad I have it happy it's done !

BCB would do themselves a favor by posting a small disclaimer on their site that some modifications may be needed and one size doesn't necessarily fit all!!

Bc bronco fuel kit

I installed their kit and I had to tweak it in places.I lucked out with proportion valve because mine mounts on my MC.I don't have efi so I only have one line.

Mine went in with no problems and only 1 slight bend to make it over the NV3550 conversion crossmember. Then again, the body was off. Only other issue was on one of his clips. I had to re-drill the brake line hole take the fuel line instead. Again, this was because of the crossmember. Had no problem with the middle 8 inch piece. It fit perfectly.

I bought mine long before install. When it came time, I couldn't figure how it would work, gave up and now in box. Made my own.

If the body was off these things would be perfect, it just really sucked putting them on with the body in place. Without the body lift I would of done what maui did and they would be for sale on here right now.

When I installed mine I had to leave out the small section. It also seemed to be bent to go under the t case crossmember. Everything lined up perfectly when going under but if I flipped it to go over the mount then nothing in front of it lined up. I just thought that's the way it was supposed to be.

That is exactly what I'm talking about, pics show over the cross member but then nothing lines up and even under I would of had to tweak it. I honestly think there is just some variances in the consistency of the bends. They are made to go along the frame rail and all (most) of our broncos have the same frame lines short of custom ones.

This is an older thread, but I'm going to add to it so maybe it will be helpful to others.

I got the same kit from BC, and at one point on Saturday I was tempted to call and see if Chuck was around to pick his brain on the install because I was getting so frustrated. I was feeling like the only way to install them was if the body was off. I ended up taking a break which was very helpful......

I tried and tried to get the front lines in from underneath every way you could imagine, next I tried from above, but after my break I realized just come in from the fender well and over the frame. Was a breeze!!!! I did not even have to take the tire off. It wraps perfectly around the brake distribution and right over the crossmember. I did use the extensions and have only a single tank.

My only worry is that sent carb fuel line instructions with my efi kit. I say worry because I wonder if the filter is for EFI type system or not. Maybe Chuck will chime in.

If it matters, 68 bronco with no SL or BL

I think they would be a pain in the butt to install even if they were built by NASA. Let's see, they run the length of the vehicle, go over, under, and around everything on the frame, are inside the frame, have lots of fasteners. Oh yeah, they are between the frame and exhaust, trans, engine, etc.

That made me laugh!! You are so correct. I had to drop the front shaft at the t-case and drop the passenger exhaust, but that was just to tap the holes for the clips.

Along those same lines, the tranny cooler lines really tested me!

Bought the deluxe carb steel fuel line kit. Installed in an hour!! Didn't have to rebend any of the lines. I installed the lines with the engine, transmission and transfer case out of the truck.

I got to say if you are installing the lines with everything else already there the lines are a bitch. But they get really hard if you change any bend. And every bend after the first one make it all harder. The body off is easiest but it can be done with the body on and no body lift. We find that sometimes the exhaust has to come off and sometimes the diff. valve has to come off the frame, other than that it's sort of like working out one of those interlocking puzzles

I just installed the two tank version for efi with fuel connections at the rear of the engine. It's a nice kit since I didn't want to mess with flaring and tracking down all of the fittings. I did have to mess with some of the bends as the lines almost seem too long for where they are supposed to go and I didn't even use the 8" middle pieces. I didn't like the fact that if you don't use the fuel filter setup that comes with the kit, you will be one barbed fitting short on your project. I like the frame mounts and it is a clean looking install once done.

Good to hear that it went well, I just ordered the same kit. What fuel selector valve are you running?

Tank selector valve.... I'm experimenting at this point. I just put efi on and didn't want to buy a 23 gal tank so here's what I am trying. I am leaving the stock selector valve on and plumbed in a stock fashion. My low pressure fuel pump pulls off the three way valve outlet and sends fuel to the high pressure pump in the engine bay. The return line I have going only to the rear tank. My thinking is that when my main tank gets low, I can switch the selector lever to draw off the side tank. This will draw fuel for the engine and also transfer return fuel to the main tank. When the side tank starts getting low, I can flip the switch back to the rear tank. Kinda convoluted but wanted to get it running and didn't want to buy a six way valve or a dedicated transfer pump. We'll see how it goes.

I am on my second project using this kit, but I have never had to do this with the body on....yet. It's much easier with the body off. At least in my experience!
