Another vote for the Q-jet. Ran one for years on my old 302 on an early Mustang cast iron 4bl manifold with an upside down Transdapt (4 hole) square bore to spreadbore manifold adapter. Great gas mileage, smooth transition to secondaries (really pulled hard then) and would run on it's side. Even though most of them are rated at 750cfm, their design allows them to flow only as much as your motor really needs........great carburetor!------Hans

O.K. O.K. I was asleep at the wheel. You guys don't be needing to messin' wid any of dat chit. After years of messing around with the aftermarket I came back to the Ford family.480 cfm Autolite 4100 on a cast iron mid-sixties 289 intake. The best mod I ever did to any Bronco. It just works. An Autolite 2100 on steroid, etc etc. And when the secondaries open up, what a sweet sound! There is no other like it. Pricey. But worth it. I have spoken!

With an RV cam'd 302, I started with a stock carb, went to a Holley with the off road kit with no luck, then went to an Edelbrock with the off-road set-up with no luck. I talked to Chuck @ BC Broncos and he sold me a Quadrajet. This imo is hands-down the best carb next to going FI. It has performed flawlessly for many years now.
I had someone riding with me this last weekend @ TDS going up a steep incline ask if it was injected because it 'ran like a sewing machine' lol

GT40, with Iron heads, Stock Mustang Cam, Windage Tray, HEI Ignition, Edelbrock Performer Manifold and 600 Carb Dyno'd 302 at the crank.............. So, I'm a believer in the Edelbrock
