Best place to get NP205 Parts?

Long story short, I broke my NP205 doing something stupid involving a glob of RPM in RW Hi, and a clutch dump. I confirmed it's not the transmission by driving the Bronco around my neighborhood in FW Hi.

The Bronco bucks like I knocked some teeth off of the output shaft.

I'm going to probably pull it apart next weekend, but noticed while searching for rebuild parts, I mostly only find seal kits and shift rails. Any recommendations would be appreciated

I'm not sure honestly. I didn't really consider that being a possibility but I should have, I'm still on 28 spline axles with 35s. I'll have to take a look.

Thanks Yeller, yeah I know a guy (or two) for 205 parts, upgrade/stock.

Our first EB had the same systems right before we upgraded to 31sp axles. And similar symptoms right before I fished 3 ring-gear teeth out of the housing.

I'll look tonight, that's easier to check than the t case for me by myself.

If it is broken, I feel like this is going to get expensive lol. I've wanted to change gear ratios front and rear, upgrade to 31 spline and change my rear carrier to a tru trac. I have the stock carrier out back, the PO put an ARB in the D44. I don't think I'm going to have the budget to put an ARB in the rear end.

I purchased an entire 3rd member with the gears and limited slip I wanted for about $1000 shipped to my door from Speedway. Just offering an option as your looking at new Ford 9" parts.

If it has a TracLoc now, it's very possible that you broke the carrier housing through the ring gear bolts...it's a pretty common failure, especially with 35"+ tires. I did just that in my '77 F150 doing mild wheeling with 35's, and it felt like when you break some teeth off the ring and/or pinion and they slip every so often depending on how hard you get on the throttle, the severity of the break, and shrapnel involved. That said, I was able to limp home in 4WD and other than freaking out the drivers around me with all the noise my rear end was making, especially in parking lots, it got me there no worse for wear...and it was still just as broken when I got home.

The NP205's are hella stout, but do fail, just not often under an EB with 28-spline axles, since it's much stronger than the axles so long as it still had oil in it and didn't have any prior damage before being put under an EB.

This looks like a good deal from Northeast. They're semi local to me so I'd save shipping.

Are the small bearing 31 spline axles a gimmick or are they just as strong as the big bearing axles? I'd rather not swap housings if I can avoid it.
