Protofab Rear Plate Bumper

I know most of this thread has been about front winch bumpers, but he also asked about rears. This got me to doing some research too. Anyone with a Protofab rear plate bumper- a few questions for you- How hard is it to get the pin in that hitch? Does it have anywhere to mount safety chains? How do you like that heim joint carrier?

Thanks

Aloha all,

I love my Duff's bumpers....if you ever get a chance to see them up close it is a simple decision. They make sense.

back to work...

Not too hard to get the pin in, just have to reach up behind.

No place for attachments, but you can use one of the rings that go into the
hitch. I am planning on adding two shackle tabs to mine.

Heim joint carrier is working great on mine. I like it because even if it
starts to wear over time it is adjustable, and easy to replace the heim if needed.

>>It is the actual prototype one shown in the new catalogue mounted to Hiho. There's supposed to be some difference in the production unit though I don't know what exactly that would be.<<

There was a pic of that bumper from Moab on the website...but not anymore. The one in the catalog is the newer version. The production bumper is the one that went to the Free 4 All on HiHo and is pictured in the new catalog. It is "thicker" on the sides than the prototype that Mick has.

The rear bumper is essentially unchanged from the prototype. The first units (front & rear) are already rolling off the line (I have personally seen them!) I am finalizing the production costs and prices and will have the info on the web ASAP. We will have units available for delivery to SOB. (Trailer space permitting.)
