I don't think you can use Jim's bronco as any kind of indicator as to what color your engine compartment should be. His rig is just too damn nice looking and kind of throws the curve so to speak.
The question should be worded: What color should anyone but Jim paint their engine compartment?
Seriously, how many of us have a rig even in the same league as that yellow beauty? How many of us can devote our lives to keeping it that clean?

Kind of reminds me of a Christmas decoration competition here in my town. One guy's house is done up so spectalularly year after year, that his house now just gets special mention so everyone else can compete.
Otherwise, there would never be a competition. Get my drift?

Keep posting on threads like this Jim. I never tire of looking at your rig.

Ed
It's semi-gloss black for me. I like to be able to touch things up once in a while and the rattle cans work great.

-D

POR 15 and high temp Semi gloss Black worked for me, and I have the satisfaction of knowing that my engine bay will never rust. It cleans very easy to.

mine's glossy black looks clean when i uhh clean it.. but it hides the most and looks very uniform and classy.. i'd stay away from light colors they'll tend to show dirty more and look nastier

I went with hammerite black, which is more of a charcoal color. Tough stuff, looks good, cleans up easy and easy to touch up with the poof can if needed. :)

But yes of course I am a parrothead. In fact he was just here a few months ago. It was a blast. Drinking way too much rum punch and dancing around in the grass seating during the show.

San diego concerts are fun, but I the LA ones are supposed to better. Used to go to the Dallas ones when i lived there, they were a blast!
