Best place to mount baby car seat?

Trying to figure out the best place to mount the base to my baby's car seat in the bronco. I currently have a 1/2 cab but was planning on putting on a roll bar soft top and possibly a rear seat. Has anyone tried attaching base b/w to 2 front seats? Just tryin to figure out how to get the whole family in the bronco for leisurely drives.

With a half cab, it'd be tough to say the least.

I'd put Twerpy's seat in the back seat, seat belt it into place, and throw a ratchet strap around the front to keep it from sliding any at all (the stock seat belts do a pretty crummy job of holding in place securely) She rode a lot of trails like that.

Now she's getting big enough, that I'll stick her in the front seat with the harness and a couple of towels under her for some height.

it's a law in my state that no children under 1 can ride in the front, but I guess if there isnt a rear seat it would be OK. I put my 9 mo old in the back seat and use the stock seat belt to latch the car seat. I dont use the base because that just adds more height and it's already high enough. If i didnt have the full cage, I dont think i would put her in the back, I'd put the wife back there, nothing could penetrate that hard head;D ;D ;D
That's probably a wise idea about strapping the back to keep it from swinging, especially when wheeling.

I built a "Latch" attachment system for the back of mine. I went down and got some 1/8"x2" flat stock, 1/8" round stock and then bent the round to match the Latch specs in my wife's Durango. I spaced it the same from anchor to anchor then welded it to the flat. Then I bolted it under the seat belts. I should say that I used a flat that is the same length as the width between the wheel wells and bolted under all 4 seat belts.
