Best Power Steering Conversion for Unlifted Bronco

I have a buddy of mine who just bought a 70 Bronco, with manual steering, no lift, and he wants to add power steering. What is his best option? Is the 4x4x2 box swap a possibility or is the box longer, and not good for stock rigs?

The only box that requires a lift is the 70's ford 2wd pickup box all the other boxes are virtually the same size as a bronco box although the 4x4x2 box is the beefiest one. Best bet is to find a stock bronco box as other than adapting the steering column no other mods are needed.

Either an original type box, or one of the new Delphi replacements is probably his best bet for all around convenience. The 4x4x2 box is longer (though not as long as the 2wd box broncnaz mentioned), but can be raised up to ride high on the frame, so does not necessarily require a lift to install.
The main reason for all the upgrade boxes seems to be reliability when running larger tires and harder 4-wheeling.
Which doesn't sound like it's going to be an issue here.

I just shredded a stock PS gear using 37" tires and a front mini spool. Had to use winch assist to get it off of the trail, spending its third night there as I write this.

Realizing this thread is a year old, I recommend going with the 4x4x2 and do it once.

You're comparing apples to oranges. He's building a stock non lifted Bronco. You are running 37" tires. Two completely different situations. For what he is building, a stock power steering setup will work just fine and bolt right in.
