HaHa!!! I totally agree with those two statments, but what is 50/50 anti-freeze??? My rad guy was simply saying stay away from 50/50, cause you can't be sure of the mixture!!! :) :) :)
For a very brief time right out of high school, I spent some time in a shop that had the side business of running a sprint car. They would run a race, drain the oil, send it for analysis, tear the engine apart, rebuilt.... I'd assume since running an engine that hard on a dirt track it's the only way to not destroy engines.

They switched to Amsoil and sent the oil off for analysis as they always did. After analysis the lab asked them why they'd sent unused oil (it wasn't).

Maybe a fluke, who knows, but I've been an Amsoil fan every since and have used it when it's made sense ever since and never been let down. All my current fluids for the Bronco are Amsoil and I trust their mix. I actually didn't even know I had bought 50/50 mix until Timmy brought up 50/50 yesterday (haven't used it yet). I've never used it before, so we'll see. If I had noticed it was premixed before I bought it, I probably wouldn't have since I've never used premix, but again, I trust them and will try it.

Yes sir, my guy builds rads for circle track cars, his comment is as much a CYA comment as anything, but it covers his ass!!! Hell I've used water from a ditch to get a rig home and I've drained rads and blocks to prevent freezing cause I couldn't afford anti-freeze!!! With Amsoil, you're talking about one of the leading lubricant producers, not the competitive priced store brand of products, I didn't know they offered an anti-freeze!!! :) :) :)

Do NOT run straight water unless you want your cast iron block to rust. That much rust developed in one day won't cause any structural damage but it WILL definitely affect the heat transfer abilities for cooling your block. Got a worn out 302 and it won't be a problem. Pumping a ton of HP out of your block and you'll need to be able to cool it.

50/50 is 1 gal of antifreeze and 1 gal of distilled water.
