I have been told E series rear axle stuff will not work with truck stuff.
It takes some effort, but then: so do most of the popular mods. ;D When I do my truck, I'll bolt in the whole E150 axle, cut its spring & shock mounts off, and weld on the ones I need.
Is the E-brake a deal breaker for everyone? I rarely use mine in my daily driver. Is it a necessity for the EB?
Technically, every vehicle on a public US road is required to have a "failsafe" mechanical emergency brake in case the hydraulics fail. But as hydraulics have improved over the past few decades, the mechanical system have become far LESS-reliable to the point that they're more of a hassle than something to rely on.

But the laws haven't changed yet...

Notice the terminology has changed too. They are "parking" brakes, no "emergency" brakes.. Not deisgned to stop the vehicle, just keep it from rolling. Could you immagine 99% of our population applying a foot controlled mechanical brake at 80mph ....

I still think they are a gotta have, not that I use it much either. But, parking on in an incline or with a trailer, it makes life much easier on the parking pawl.. Then, if you have a manual, the engine can only hold so much...

I found a complete set-up for a '77 MK IV and had intentions on using them. However, the directional rotors themselves are so friggin expensive that the 8.8" is making more sense..

I have the BCB rear disc set-up with the parking brakes. I bought their cables and so far they are working well.

In particular, I was interested in the disc brakes on a 99 E350 and putting them on a dana 60 from a truck. Ot would shock and spring mounts be the way to go and just use the whole axle?
