My C-4 is leaking like sieve! What is the best way to seal it? I have heard about using a good brand of silicon to lithium grease on the gaskets. Any suggestions?

Don't use sealant here! It can get into the fluid. Make sure the surfaces are real clean, check the pan for straightness, flatten out bolt holes with a hammer and block of wood, apply trans fluid to the new gasket, and don't over tighten the bolts.
Maybe it's leaking somewhere else. Check the make sure the bolts are tight where the transmisson bolts to the transfer case adapter. Mine worked loose and leaked a lot.

C4 pans suck, too easy to over tighten.

Take a C4 pan, make a template on 1/4" thick flat plate. Grind to fit under the pan, that solves the pan leaking... on to the next thing.

I like the cork composite from Victor. It's soft and has a lot of crush thickness. I understand that it expands with oil to fill voids.

Whats the best gasket material?

I recently used a rubber gasket with gasket adhesive. Leaks worse than before I replaced it.:(
My neighbor's son-in-law is a transmission guy. He took one look at it and said "shoulda used cork."

Yes, the rubber gasket is what was on mine. I talked to my brother in law, works for Dodge, he said they dont use gaskets on the pan just a special silicon for tranny pans and diff covers.
