I ordered my shocks the from raceshock.com.

The part numbers I ordered were be5-6528-H5 (5100) for the front and BE5-6248-H5 (5125). I have a 2 1/2" lift.

Does that sound right?

The part numbers are different than a post I was following from Huess,
http://www.classicbroncos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=168596

The measurements I got from the Bronco are:
Front
18" and 21 1/8 extended
Rear
19 3/4 and 21 1/8 extended.

I just got a pair of rear shocks from shockwarehouse.com. I will also be running a 2 1/2" suspension lift. I got the Bilstein 5125s, part # BE5-6253-H5

The # you have for the front is same as I have in my notes. I haven't ordered fronts yet because I haven't decided if I am going with the 7100 series up front.

Most of the vendors will tell you the collapsed and extended shock measurements that work with their lift kits. Let them know what kind of mounts you are working with when you ask for the length. You should be able to compare these measurements to the 5125 specs on Bilsteins site. They are identical to the 5100's with some different sizes. Make sure you get at least the 255/70 valving. I found that valving to be a bit soft. Your experience may vary.

Or you could just ask Cary at ctperformance. He's a vendor on this site and just hooked me up with a good deal on Bilsteins.
He'll be able to recommend the correct part for your application.

I think I am okay.
I called Bilstein and Raceshock. It looks like what I ordered is a better fit.

Although Bilstein said the 5100 series for the year has a lifetime warrany because it was application specific.

First ride

I installed the new shocks last night. It took longer than expected to get them but I am happy. It was definetly smoother. I am suprised how much softer than it was than the cheap Gabriels I had on it.

It wasn't all good. It was all over the place. It wasnt great before but it was definetly tougher to drive. I dont think it was bump steer but I did have the steering stabilizer off. It didnt really wander but seemed to dart and the steering was overly sensitive.

I have changed a bunch of stuff. I am hoping it is alignment issue. I have changed the coils, leafs, shocks, trac bar. A couple of years back I changed the c bushings, column bearings and had the box rebuilt.

Does it sound like alignment? Any ideas? I hoping I dont need to add a stabilzer or change any other parts. I am a bit over budget on the ride/steering. The only thing I have done is checked the toe in.

When you get your alignment sheet check your caster, I bet you dont have enough. Mine did the same thing, even with 7 degree c bushings and trac bar drop brackets I olny have about 4+ and horrable driveline angle.

I never noticed I had bump steer until I installed my 7100's. They really let the suspension cycle and I couldn't drive it on the fwy anymore. Those cheap Rancho's wouldn't let the front end move at all. I never realized I had so many issues up front. Now the track bar and drag link issues are fixed, and it's driving great.
