I'm going to buy the same parts thanks for doing the research. What was your solution for the heated seats? I was going to use a aftermarket heated seat switch and a relay to either power the seat in parallel or series with the two heating elements. Which would be 12v or 6v giving me two temp settings. Not sure if there is a thermistor built in to kill the power of the element if it gets too hot.

We used BMW switches with pigtails purchased off eBay.

Mounted on each side of the console, USB plug and CB also reside in there. Remote the CB speaker output to the dash speaker.

I hate iphones.

I didn't hook up the heated seat portion yet. There's posts on n here that deal with that issue! Mine was strictly getting them out of sleep mode!

I purchased the parts for about $15 on Amazon. I wasn't aware but the Adino pulse unit does come with pigtails to plug in but did not have a 3 pin connector just individual single wire connectors that will work but for stability it was nice having one single plug. There's 3 pins on the pulse unit. VCC (main 12 v wire gets connected to this line, ground (obviously gets connected to brown ground wire) and OUT which gets connected to your small green/Orange wire. Your other small green wire gets soldered into the 2 large brown grown leads. Over all the wires coming off the pig tail should be connected this way: 2 large brown together with green small wire, and ground wire of pulse unit. Red wire plus black w/ red stripe and VCC wire out of pulse unit. I placed the switch in some small plastic boxes I had, the guy on you tube used an old pill bottle to house the pulse unit!! Good luck!

I know I can run heated seats with a relay using parallel and series wiring. My concern is that the bmw seat heaters use a computer controlled setup with thermistor in the bottom cushion vs a thermostat. I was thinking I could find a 12v thermostat normally open with a 40*Celsius cut off so that it won't over heat in high mode. I could wire the thermostat to the ground side of the wiring to kill power when it reaches peak temp.. any ideas on this? I can't seem to find any diagrams showing the heated seat wire colors. I know the bottom heater element has three wires and the upper has two.

Look at my post #39. Use the BMW switches shown in the photo. Find them on ebay with the pig tails so you will not be soldering on the switches then follow my chicken scratch diagram (the hand written one). Easiest way to do it.

Do your seats have three wires on the bottom element?

My seats are e90 seats so they are controlled by the module under the seat. I wonder if that button will work with mine.

My seats were originally controlled by a module as well. I tried to make it work but could never figure it out. I traced all the wires under the seat and deleted (unpinned) the ones that I did not need, seat belt warning, air bag sensor, ect...

I found that most BMWs used the same color code. Another route is to find an actual diagram for your seats. Good luck on that one. I spend days looking for one that matched my seats. If you find one post it here to help someone else out.

I've been searching for a long time. I can't find one so I'll look and see if your wire colors that you posted match mine. I guess the easiest way is to get the factory button if it works... Just want it to cycle properly without proper cycling it will over heat on high. Wish me luck I'll let you know what I find out.

We're you able to get the upper switch to work near the headrest? I was thinking I could wire it up in parallel to the side switch to make it move. I just don't know the wire colors for the side panel switch.

Is that upper switch a tool for rear seat passengers to get the seat pushed forward and tilted for access?

Yup. It slides the seat forward. I know how to make it work but I don't know what wires do what. I guess I'll have to pull the switch and test for continuity. Hopefully there aren't too many wires.

I jumped on the BMW train here in Iceland. Got a pair of 2007 X3 seats with everything mentioned. Seat heater buttons with pigtail and m/f seat connectors. It will be a while before install but they are really nice :)

I am going to try the 135i seats since they are manual and fairly easy to find. They also fold down easily since they are from a 2-door model. Hopefully they fit as well as I think they will.
