Ok, so i searched the tech forum and cant find what i am looking for. I just bought a stock 76 with disc brakes. I am in the process of re-doing the brakes and need to run new brake lines from the proportion valve to the master cylinder. I bought brake lines from autozone, 3/16 inch and need to know about the adapters/fittings that I will need. The master cylinder has two different sized fittings on it, one a half inch wrench fits (assuming the bolt size is 5/8 but dont know) and the other a 7/16 fits and i assume the bolt size on it is a 1/4 inch. Is that correct? What size fittings are on the proportion valve, does anybody know? I have been told I can buy a fitting to make the current fittings on the brake lines work but i dont know which ones i need. can anybody help??? Thanks!!!

I'm going to assume you meant 5/16 and not 5/8 for the first fitting size. All you need to do is ding around a bit with the fittings. The local auto parts store should have everything you need to get it done. I had to replace one of my MC lines and was able to get the line and fittings. It just took a couple of trips though.

Just a suggestion, take your master cylinder and prop. valve with you to NAPA or your local auto parts store and they should be able to round up the necessary fittings and tubes you'll need. Bend up a couple coat hangers to duplicate the length of brake tubes you need and with luck you'll get everything you need with one visit.
