Hello,

I am thinking of going to the November 11-13, 2011 - Bronco Daze 45th Anniversary - Borrego Springs, CA.

Has anyone done this or similar run before? My big concern is that my Bronco is not a really built up off road machine, and I'd hate to do her serious damage. One friend told me that most of the runs are not more than a dirt road with the occasional bump. If this is the case no worries..

Other questions – does one camp along the trail or is it back to hotel / camp site each night.

Any comment / pointers would be appreciated. I live not far from Borrego Springs and quite excited to do this if my 69 is up for it.

Best,

Jack.

In the past they have had runs for everyone, not just for built rock crawlers. You should be fine.

When I went I saw most at the hotels. The hotel where you register also has RV parking in the back. Looks like a decent hotel.

it's a decent hotel, i've stayed there a few times other than bronco daze. and yes there is an RV lot out back, they don't like tents but they have let me pitch back there before. some guys camp off site in groups if you don't wanna pay the resort for a room or RV lot. not sure where, i always just pay the $25 a night and stay in a RV site. this year i got my teardrop i'll be using and plugging in.

as for the runs, mild to body damage. majority of the runs are down sand washes with an occasional off camber or tiny rock pile.

FYI - You have to call the hotel to make reservations. Again, You have to call to make reservations. This is the only way they can give the bronco group a special discount.

If you try to book using the web-site, it will tell you it is all booked up. They did this to allow only bronco people to book the rv sites and rooms. Pretty cool that a hotel is willing to do this.

So, call them at;

Phone:1 (800) 242-0044 - (760) 767-5341

This will be my first time. I was told it is a great, great bronoc event. Plus, the wife is happy because we have a room with a shower.;D

I just signed up and cant wait. Bronco Daze was my first Bronco event back in 2002 :D Nine years ago I camped out (Calico) but now I look forward to a comfortable room after a day wheeling. Must be the age :eek:
