Looking good. With that rain gutter installed do you still have enough room for snaps? Seem like you may need the piece of sheet metal mentioned above.

Teal68 the rain gutters are held on with screws so they are removable to get the snaps into place. Hopefully by next weekend I'll have the top sew up and installed.

Soft Top

I got the frame painted black. I also had time today to swing by a buddies shop who does upholstery work and he gave me some input on how he would make the actual soft top. I still have to order the tinted plastic window vinyl so I can get the top sewn up and installed. If all goes well by next weekend I'll have it ready.

Good work, been considering doing my own full soft top hybrid based on some of the features from the BCB, Saddleup, & Rampage designs.

Drock, that looks good. If you can find a way to build a inexpensive top, well I say your doing good. I tried it and had as much cost in it as a full soft top. I do like the half cab soft top however. keep going, I want to see it done.

Thanks skinner. Let me get this one finished up and I'll see what I have into it cost wise. Like I previously mentioned, my goal was to make the top as easy and inexpensively as possible. If you reference the first few posts and check out the pictures I'm sure just about anyone with some time could do exactly what I did. Only takes simple tools to make the frame (no welding).

Bax, your top is what made me want a half cab soft top. I'm also planning on making mine like you did with the 2 piece design to keep it simple. The materials I used are fairly inexpensive (total cost so far is just over $100). I am going to use Top Gun fabric (the same material that BC Broncos uses on their awesome soft tops). I'll keep everyone updated with photos as I make progress.

Frame Removed

Removed the frame this afternoon. I braced it up so I can drop it off at my buddies shop to help me sew up to top. I'm hoping I can find time later this week to get it done.

Soft Top

Over the weekend I got the top sewn together (still has the white chalk marks on the fabric). Defiantly a learning experience. Once it warms up I'll get it outside and the rest of the wrinkles should work out. All in all the project was just over $140 for everything.

Half Cab Soft Top

Are you interested in building another? that looks great

Right now I don't have tons of extra time to make another but I'm confident that if I can do it just about anyone with some time could do the same. I've still got a few things to tweak to get it to where I want it, so I'll consider it Soft Top version 1.0 for now. The sewing part was a big learning curve but I had a buddy with a little experience that guided me in the right direction.

BRONCROB, thanks. I may got that route once I get all the small bugs worked out. My roll cage is just right below the middle portion and won't allow it to sag too much if water pools up. The fabric is fairly tight right now and once the sun hits it I'm sure it will snug up even more.
