And the madness has started. I picked this Bronco up with the intention of using it as is to get me into the woods and to pull my boat to the water but after less than 24 hours I started looking at upgrades. She is a 1974 with a 200 inline 6 and while she's not too bad off we have plenty of room for improvement. I figured "The Predator" would be a fitting name because we'll be after everything from wildcats and coyotes to deer, ducks and hogs. We'll be getting plenty of fresh fish with her too.

The first pick is in the POs yard and the second is 40 miles down the road after she broke down and we had to tow home.

First upgrade was moving to a 3G alternator and during that process the Catahoula took a good look around.

Now we are sending the gauges off to get refurbished. Figured this would be a good time to clean things up a bit so I took the dash out. I just ordered a family roll cage and plan on ordering a set of the tube doors too.

We pulled her on the tow dolly at 45-50 and she did just fine. Father-in-law made a much needed adjustment to the straps that hold the tires down. Without that it wouldn't have worked at all.

@ BarronJ, that's probably why the horn doesn't work. I'll check that out this week.

I had the same experience bringing mine home a little over a month ago!!! Wasn't it frustrating!?;D

Actually, mine was my fault and I made it a couple hundred miles before breaking down.

I was driving it home from Dallas with my dad and son following in my Escape. I pulled over to talk to them about something. I parked on a hill so I set the parking brake. And when we pulled off, I forgot to release the brake. I ended up driving that way for maybe a mile or two before realizing what I had done. When I pulled over to make sure my brakes weren't on fire, the tranny burped up quite a bit of fluid and I felt like a fool. So, I ended up calling my brother to come pick us up with my trailer and we hauled it the rest of the way home. I'm sure I could have filled it back up with fluid after letting it cool down and drove it the rest of the way home but I wanted to be safe rather than sorry. I changed the fluid when I got it home and it's worked fine ever since. I told my teenage son that these things always turn into an adventure and he might as well get used to it now!
