I have a single 23 gallon Aero tank and need to plumb to a carbureted engine. I plan to use an electric pump. Can you share advice on how to plumb. I plan on a filtration system next to the tank, followed by an electric pump. Would you use steel lines or is steel braided a good option ? I have read that a oil pressure switch and a relay are good options also. Also, what is the return line for on the Aero tank? Pictures of you system would be excellent.

With the frame off I would definitely use steel tubing. You can buy an entire roll of it at a parts store. Run it down the frame and clamp it so it can't move/rub. It would be protected well on top the frame but you may need a body lift to do that. Braided hose looks nice initially but it's expensive and can rust after a few years.

Oil pressure switch and inertia switch are both good ideas. Return port is a bonus. It'll make upgrading to EFI easier. Just plug it with the carb.

Electric fuel pumps are designed to push not pull fuel so you will want to keep the self regulated pump as close to the tank as possible. If you have an aftermarket wire harness it probably has an electric fuel pump power supply. If not and you run a relay, I like the idea of using a switch between the key on power source and pump for theft deterrent and for the few times you may have the fuel line to carb disconnected but want to crank the engine, and yes there will be times. . If you use a stock looking switch in the dash like another emergency flasher switch it will be tough to figure out for a would be thief.

I bought a 6' piece of line from my local auto store 3/8" that already was flared and then bought 2 3/8" fittings with a 3/8" barb. Cost about 15 bucks total and used the bcbronco clamp, then you can also buy a 6' piece of brake line at the same time and clamp it in. Then just had to use about 12" of 3/8" rubber line at each end to connect it to the motor and tank.

Thanks guys. I will run a filter right out of the tank, then a pump, steel lines on top of the frame, parallel with new steel brake lines using the suggested clamps. The wiring of project has me nervous. I will probably end up having a complete wiring harness made. Much appreciated.
