I'm wanting to fab a bulkhead that is vertical, versus slanted into the cab. One that comes straight down from where it connects to the cab and body. Can someone give me the measurements width wise from the point the cab sits on the body (between the bedrails where the stock bulkhead bolts up) and also a vertical measurement from the bottom of the cab top down to the bed or floorboard?

Half cab bulkhead

Projo -
Looks like you've already done what I'm trying to do. Looks like a great design. The pictures are a big help. The way you did the actual bulkhead portion is exactly what I want to do. I may do my sides a little different. I think I'm going to make them as seperate pieces; two reasons; 1)to make ease of removing/installing the main bulkhead, 2) make it easier to access the bolts (the two in the back corner of the top) that secure the top down.
I was able to get the measurements late last night. Like you, my Bronco isn't with me at the moment. It's in the body shop. I'm trying to get this thing built before the painter is ready for it.
How did you seal the bottom edge of your bulkhead to the floor? I'm not sure if I'm going to try a rubber seal, silicone, or what. Looking for ideas.
Once again, sweet looking bulkhead. Nice, clean and well designed. Looks like you did a great job.
When I get mine done, and I'm not embarrassed after seeing the job you did, I'll post some pictures.
Appreciate your feedback.

The body shop sealed the bottom, I think they used automotive seam sealer.

Progress

Hey Projo -
here's what I've got so far. Basically it's a bulkhead and two side pieces.
The bulkhead is 19 1/2" tall by 55 3/4" wide. The side pieces go in first and close off the area atthe bed rails.

Looks great..
I don't know what Ford was thinking when they came up with the sloping bulkhead idea.

Both of you have done a great job with your bulkheads. You guy's have both gain a lot of useable space.

This is one of those hindsight things for me. I've definitely come up with other ideas since I did mine, but it's a little too late... it's being painted now.

Mine also has two small pieces at each end to seal things up, and I did make some other changes for speakers. But I really wish I would have made the bulkhead completely vertical.

I know it has been a long time since this thread was posted but do you remember if the diminisions from side to side is the same at the top and at the bottom. Mine is closer at the top and I may need to spread it and brace it when I pull the tub off.
thanks Wes

thanks, I figured it was suposed to be since mine has been hit in the right quarter panel, the bondo is about 1 inch thick. I have new sheet metal to go on it but I needed to know if it was square.
thanks again Wes

A couple of speaker ideas.

I like the console you made for the radio and speakers! Nice!

...BUT... are those heated seat buttons on either side of the radio???
I wanted to do that too but haven't sourced seats yet.
