Thinking of taking the plunge. Does something like this http://www.jegs.com/i/TCI/890/528900/10002/-1 get you started or do you want to go the ala carte parts list? I'm waffling between taking on the learning experience and saving some money or doing a drop-off at the shop. Plan on getting the Badshoe DVD and a good manual if I do it myself.

I always buy the individual parts. Lots of parts are not included in that TCI kit and it's too expensive. Go to bulkpart.com and get these parts at the minimum. It will be about $300.

rear band

clutch/seal Kit
c6 pump bushing
case bushing
direct clutch bushing

Thanks,
going shopping!

I used Viperwolf's help (again) and rebuilt mine. This is how it turned out. I got a little crazy with the Powdercoat as I made friends with a guy who does it. Good luck and I may be able to help as well. Although Viper and others are WAY more knowledgeable. :)

Do it yourself! It is not a difficult job with the right tools and advice. Viperwolf is the resident expert and helped me through my C4 build too. After I disassembled mine, I took the case into a local shop and had them clean it, it was like $30 and well worth it. Keep everything clean, clean, clean!!

Nice work! I'm more on the order of a good wash job and maybe clearcoat. But yours looks great. I'll be asking questions. Got to get the axles back in it and rebuild the T-case first. I think I'm accidentally working in the order of complexity. Body is off for quite some time so all of this gets a little more convenient

Agree with what everyone said - take Viperwolf's advice and buy from Bulkpart.com. It is easy to do - I did mine twice I liked it so much!

Get the thrustwasher kit and a new/rebuilt converter! Check your end play in the drums and overall end play very carefully. That is why I got to do mine twice.

Oh and get the video - www.badshoeproductions.com
