C4 vent / overflow catch can ideas

I have fought an issue on my crawler that I lose a lot of transmission fluid out of the C4 through my vent line. The vent is a 3/8 hose that is mounted to a filter next to the brake booster (as high as I can get it). When I get vertical, I lose fluid... like 2+ quarts this past weekend on Cream Puff at Harlan.

I was wondering if a catch can like I run on my radiator would help? Run a vented catch can, or would the fluid in the reservoir prevent the C4 from getting air when it needs it?

That's a lot!
I use a junkyard foreign car clutch resivior. It holds maybe a pint. I think the only time I've over filled it my temp was well over 260 degrees.

I seem to be having the same problem you are and am also looking for a solution. I tend to spend a lot of time in the vertical position in my crawler.

I won't take credit for this one but it's working. I ran a hose from the vent back into the fill tube itself. I put a little fitting on the side of the tube so the dipstick can still be used. Now when it pukes it gets swallowed back down.

We use a radiator catch can on the racer, it's required. It works well the hose is attached on the bottom it fills the can if it needs to and drains back in when it gets back into position. We use one that's pretty tall and the filtered vent has a tube that goes about 1/2 way into the can so it doesn't leak when it's upside down unless it sits there for a while.

Catch cans are very common an usually required for many race organizations
Search for catch cans and get many hits.
Home made work great using metal drink bottles. The drink bottles sold at Walmart have a 3/4 pipe thread so your vent line can be adapted to the fitting. The other end needs filtered vent via a drilled hole and a barb fitting. Then hang the thing up high. Fluid goes in and is sucked back later. No spill.
Building you own maybe a drink bottle is not big enough? Use an oil bottle or bigger metal bottle.

I built this for overflow from my cold duck. The way it's clocked and with the level to the fill plug any hwy speed and it pushes oil out the vent. I did this with a few pieces of plastic pipe from Lowes and put a vent at the top of the canister and mounted on the inner fender. It pushes the oil into it and then lets it drain back. Should work for C4 the same way.

I currently have one of these on my buggy and it causes the fluid to come out of the dipstick now.
