Hi,
A member on here has a C6, shifter, D20 adaptor, and driveshafts for a C6 conversion for sale, and I have a few questions:
1. The seller said, and I read the same, that you need a T-shift T-case. I'm trying to keep my cost down and only have a J-shift T-case. Can the C6 work with a J-shift T-case?
2. I only have 3.5" of lift....Does that have an impact on question 1 and making the linkage work?
3. Again, I only have 3.5" of lift so will his driveshafts shafts or my existing work by any chance.

I think that's it for now. Thanks in advance,
Tyler

A T transfer case will be needed, (however, I think I remember some mods made to a J shift, but you'll need to run a search on it), I also believe you'll need a 2" body lift, in order to shoe horn that c-6 in there. Also as far as drive shaft, I believe it will need to be shortened, however with the 3.5 suspension lift, it may come out close.

Also mod will need to be made to the mounting brackets for the c-6. Spareparts has a c-6 in his bronco and he has good info on it. I also believe Bax is running a c-6. Both of these guys are very knowledgeable, so I'd hit them up via pm. I hope I haven't stirred up the mud on this for you.

I plan to run a c-6, which has a t-shift t/c and pre moded brackets for the mounts.

I had gone so far as purchasing the c-6 advanced adapters "adapter", a c-6 (of course it had the wrong bell housing), purchased a c-6 case with the right bell housing and was going to have a local tranny shop swap and install the advanced adapter stuff into the small bell housing.

Then I ran across the 2nd C-6 that was already setup. I've got the other stuff, somewhere lol...

I had a C6 / D20 that I ripped out and replaced with a built C4, Bax has a C6 with a NP205 and loves it, I never got the D20 working right, it was the PO's project that was not done well. You may be able to get it to work, but its a PITA with the D20 you would be better off finding a 205 if you are hell bent on a C6 swap.

Thanks guys. I'll PM one of the suggestions and pick their brains.

PO put a 3" body lift on it. I'm not a fan, but will be leaving it so that may be helpful.

Ok lots to take in here. Many issues, yes it can be done and it works very good. There are a few tricky parts to it. Good that you have a lift but the c6/20 combos are not nice to each other. I did go with the 205 because of the width / center line difference of the input shaft and the front output shaft. with the 20 the front driveshaft is close to the side of the case. The lift helps but without the proper part configuration it will hit the pan / side of the case. There is more.

Thanks guys. I think I'll just pass on this deal for now. Much quicker and cheaper to throw another clutch and flywheel in for the time being.
