OK that helps with the MPG. It kinda looks like a lot of people say when they say EFI to carb isn't that huge of a difference if everything is tuned right.

But walking outside at 10 degrees and starting the Bronco is kinda priceless where I live.

Thank you for the info. I have a couple of EFI Explorers for donors so this will help.

Yeah, efi sure is a plus in the cold weather area...

my 70 has gotten a best of a bit over 16, with 33's and 3.54's. However, that was under ideal conditions and driving really conservatively.

Currently it has 4.56's with 37's and no OD so no more of that although it isn't horrible.

My main reason for wanting EFI is cold starts and all that. We have hit 33 below here and regularly reside in the 10 above range for a long time. It always starts, but I usually go for the modern truck just due to convenience.

Little bit of a different setup here. Running 4.56 gears with the 4R70w and tires with an effective height of 29 inches (31 x 10.50 BFG).

At an approximate average of 65 mph on the freeway, plus another 15 or so around town and I saw 15.4.
Keeping the speed to between 55 and 60 with less than 5 miles around town and the mileage went up to 19.4 mpg. A best ever for me and an EB!

So it's capable of getting some decent numbers if you keep the speed down.
These numbers might be approximate too, as I'm sometimes a little skeptical of the whole filling up process with the 23 gallon tank. Seems mostly consistent, but will only know for sure over a longer period of time.

I can see that. I drove my 74 Ranger with 92mustang setup and AOD up to a Duff open house when they first moved to Knoxville, it has 2.5 lift and had 31x10.5x15 tires and 3.50 gears at the time, I filled back up and chked it, I had gotten a little over 18 MPG, that was my best. I was driving 65~70mph all the way up and back

Man, y'alls are doing it right. Mine with 5:13 gears and 40's gets around 10 mpg. Gear jammin' the manual shift 4r70w may have something to do with that though...😎
