Can headers help reduce engine temps.

I had an old suburban with a 350 that ran great out here. When the water pump went I put on a high flow pump on it I think flowkooler. I ran into the same temps you describe. I put a stock pump back on and everything was fine. All I could figure is the hi flow was either moving the water too fast or causing an issue where the stat wasnt opening.

You want the largest lower pulley that will fit with the smallest water pump pulley.

If you run v-belts then BC has the smallest wp pulley and the largest crank pulley that will fit.
