I have a straight 6 200 with a single barrel carb that has been giving me all kinds of problems. I parked it 3-4 years ago running top notch, I have recently started working on it and can't get the carb to keep from flooding. I took it apart and cleaned it with no luck and just had it rebuilt but it still is flooding. what can i do ?

Probably need to clean it out again there's probably some dirt in the needle seat. Sometimes dirt or small pieces of rubber will be in the hose when you reinstall and cause flooding. While its apart double check the float level.

It's also possible the filter element is coming apart. See this a lot on motorcycles. I suggest removing and replacing all rubber lines, the filter, and maybe even replace the needle and seat.

Good luck

Recheck and double check the float level it sounds like it might be to high. Also it could just be a bad needle seat sometimes even new ones can just be bad.

Yup... check float level and needle in seat. It's GOTTA be one of those two things... assuming you're running original mechanical fuel pump.

was it an allofasudden thing, or did it start doing it after you'd done some work to the fuel system?

I've ben having the same problem But it does it every few days and still does after I changed the gas tank to a plastic one, changed all rubber lines, new pump, new filters, rebuilt the carb a dozen times and checked the float hight and floated it by floating it for about two days, changed the needle and seat two times, I'm stumped to! Drive it a few days and it floods out. How much gas psi are you supose to have? The filters stay full all the time. Can you have to much psi out of a man pump?

I've seen some crazy fuel pressures with a mech. fuel pump, enough to blow the needle/seat open also when it's hot for some reason eb's boil fuel when you shut it off.
