So I recently bought a P4070, I thought Carter products were USA made. It arrived yesterday and on the box it says Made in China. it this right? All the chat on here about the P4070 had me convinced about the reliability of the pump, now I'm doubting it.

But I'm also thinking with all the back orders for these pump, is it possible they outsourced simply to get product out? I am genuinely disappointed, I thought I was buying a quality USA product.

EDIT: So I just got off the phone with Carter and the MFG of the pumps vary by P/N and the P4070 is in fact made in China.

I just ordered a bunch of rear brake parts for my 69. Drums, shoes, spring kit, wheel cylinders, axle bearings, seals...
I asked Napa for their top of the line parts... Everything was made in China.

It's getting harder and harder to find usa made parts anymore. Even parts for my 97 dodge with a Cummins, is made in China.

I recently bought a Bosch 67000 fuel pump for a Bronco at NAPA, and it was made in USA. So I bought a couple more on ebay as spares. They're made in Brazil, and noticeably different.

Not to start a political debate, but I suspect that keeping our current president will result in more things being made here.
