changing my timing chain

In a nutshell:
Set engine at cyl #1 TDC on compression stroke. Rotor pointing to #1 wire. Disconnect battery. Drain radiator. Remove everything from the front of the engine including timing cover and balancer. Don't forget bolts that come up through the oil pan. Remove cam bolt, gears and chain. Align timing marks on new gears and install with chain. Put everything else back in reverse order.

And why do you think it needs changing yet dont know how to change one?
