Why would you even consider buying Chinese junk? Wake up, man. You shouldn't be supporting them.
I’m pretty sure he knows that. But it will probably put a lot of Americans who assemble these out business. Or at least cut that part of their business out.

I think this is what he was implying.

The majority of all the new parts at all of the Bronco aftermarket resellers are chinese, taiwan or other foreign. It has been that way for years as the US does not have the desire to make these parts cost effective enough for people to make it worthwhile. This is jsut the next step in complete build. I dont liek it either but everything in our lives has chinese influence now and we accept that for some reason.

$13k was the price when I saw them at SEMA a few weeks ago. The one I saw looked really good. But it was also a painted show body. No telling how much prep was done under that paint job. Firewall looks to be '67-69ish flavor. I can't say it was bad looking, it looked like a nicely finished body at the show.

I have zero expectations that you could open the crate and shove it into the paint booth and have a great result. I would completely expect to see the need to fine tune the body before you put paint on it to get what I saw at SEMA. And the body at SEMA was worthy of a SEMA display. Didn't see any flaws and had nice paint.

Here's an example of what's available through Alibaba. Minimum order of 10 and $2600 each. Of course in my experience, once you start negotiations reality is much different than the listing.

Seeing the pictures, that is the same source as I saw at SEMA. The rear fenders have a flare built in.

I visited their warehouse to see them in person. It sounded like quite the deal and it still may be for some. The one thing you need to do is manage your expectations. The better stamped metal that has been developed over the years is still from Taiwan but has definite;y improved. This is not that metal. The fit and finish of the american local builders is far superior as well as the paint. BUT, that is where the cost is. Anything you buy cheap on Amazon, Alibaba, harbor freight etc comes with an understaning that you are gettitng it cheap and you accept that quality. Overall if you have a beater and a small budget, you could purchase one of these and have a decent 10 footer and get back on the road. That being said, there is going to be a ton of work to get all of your old original parts to fit and work with this while not damaging the paint. The biggest issue I saw other than paint quality was the body gaps were horrendous and not even close to being acceptable in a rig you would be proud to own.
