So I am about to buy the parking break cables for my 1976, But it has Full Width axles from a 1979
Do I choose the 1979 Brake cables? I would rather have them longer than to short, but do I run into some unforeseen troubles ?

I have bought stock cables before and often find them to short..

What do you recommend?

I have an eStopp unit, but used the Lokar cables that you cut to size and those were great. Not sure if that helps you or not.

Full width are only 3 inches wider per side approximately, correct? The bronco cables for a lifted bronco or a few inches longer at least than the stock ones.
Stock ones are too short for a lift in the first place, but longer lifted cables should work as long as the ends are correct.
We know the front end would be correct for your truck, but I don’t know what the full width brakes used for an end there.
Very possibly the same ones as Broncos.

But for all these questions, the custom ones sound like a good way to go. You can buy custom cables, already premade, or do what was suggested above with the cut to fit ones.
Don’t know what kind of ends are available on those either.
Got any pics of yours ba?

Yeah, that’s why I said I wasn’t sure that would be of help…no mention of brake setup, but if stock, I’d bet at least the exact ones I have will not work and no reason to spend as much as I did on dumb cables anyway.

This Jim @WH posted above are prob the best way to go for stock brakes. My calipers are far from stock.

Are you using this one E-stopp?
And are you using a driveshaft disc brake or just the drums?

Yes, that is the eStopp I am using.

I have dis brakes all around, not a driveshaft disc brake...the calipers I'm using are 2005 Mustang with integrated e-brake and they work GREAT and I have 35" tires.

I bought my kit from MP Brakes. This is the one I got: https://mpbrakes.com/product/1972-ford-f-100-rear-disc-brake-conversion-kit-legend-series/

It does NOT say it works with an Early Bronco for some reason but when I first contacted them, I asked if any reason it wouldn't and they said no and it works GREAT.

My first email went to: info@mpbrakes.com
After that, the guy that helped me and was very helpful was Trevor: trevor@mpbrakes.com

The Lokar cables I bought from them...they don't tell you they are Lokar, but they are. I did have to get another piece to make it work exactly how I wanted it to with the eStopp and happy to share that and pics if you go that route. I prob wrote about it on my build thread as well.
