I have went from manual to auto, can I just pull the clutch shaft off or do I have to cut it off. I have my dash off and it looks like i should be able to remove the shaft going through both pedals. Any good ideas appreciated

If I remember right, there is a step in the shaft so it goes only one way.
When I went from auto to manual, I pulled the whole bracket out and slid the shaft out to switch pedals.

Your bracket can be changed to an auto brakes only but requires a few bolts to be undone. Heck leave it in and put a spring on it and freak folks out.

it will only come out to the left towards the drivers kick panel i think you have to unbolt the whole assembly

Take out the cotter pin and slide it towards the drivers kick panel. When you go to slide it back together, note that there's a flat spot on the shaft and it need to be lined up for that last 3/4". 10 min. job.

I left my pedal assembly attached to firewall and slid the shaft out towards kickpanel as others mentioned. Here is a picture of the flat end of the shaft.

Here is what the PO did to mine.... I left it in, in case I want to switch back to a manual trans some day. One less thing to do I guess.

X2 on leave it in and put a spring on it, that would make people go HUH?
