Hoping that ya'll can help. Purchased my 74 back in May 2010 and have been reading articles on this sight to point me in the right direction. I am having issues understanding the tags. The front axle tag shows 4 09 D4TA AFA 603471 7 rear is WEM-A3 3JB 11 9 6010. I have searched and found little info. From what I have found the front should be a D44 and the rear the Ford 9" but I am not sure if it is a locking diff or not. Please help

Should be stock locker. To double check jack the rear off the ground and turn one wheel, the other should turn in the same direction.

WEM-A3 is a 3300 lb open diff rear axle with 4.11 gears. No limited slip in back means no limited slip in front either.

You missed the 1st character on the 2nd line of the rear tag because it's under the bolt head. It's a 4, so 4.09 front & 4.11 rear - both open (from the factory). The only way to know for sure what's in there now is to open them up & look.
