Hi I'm new to this site, and have a 66 bronco which I'm about to start restoration to. I'm having difficulty finding out the original color for my rig. The letter in the color code area says"J" . The best that I could come up with was a "Rangoon Red from a chart I found online from a 68-70 paint chart.
Thanks in advance, Bill

Welcome aboard. Here is a 66 chart. You'll see the J code at the bottom.

Viperwolf is on it. Here’s another chart too. So Rangoon Red it looks to be.

Which was a very popular color in '66 as well.
Is yours particularly early, late, or in the middle of production? We like to keep track of '66's in some threads, but also other years to make note of particular changes made during that model year run.

Have fun with the project. And welcome to classicbroncos too!

Hope your restoration goes well. I like the red ones so post lots of pictures as your build gets going.
