What are your reservations and why does this have to happen today?

Reservations are the recent ridiculous run up in pricing. They have over doubled in value in a few years. I’m a financial advisor so I cannot help but to look at this as investment. Feel like 35k is probably close to its top value when or if things normalize. Probably have to replace the tires, got through ac maybe, get original carb and cleaner back on it, etc. The other thing is I’m in the middle of building a 67 fastback, so this adds to my plate and was not even a thought a few days ago. The last and probably biggest thing is I’m having a hard time figuring out what I would do with it, other than garage it. From what I remember it’s small, I’m 6’3 and a beef castle. I also remember it driving very similar to a dump truck. With its value and original condition, I’m worried about how smart it would be to even use and enjoy it much. Don’t really want to rack on miles or scuff the almost perfect original paint. Might have to be today because the other guy trying to buy it is coming by to look it over again and probably make a cash offer.

Seems like a once in a lifetime find....that's one of my favorite colors. I missed out on a green one similar to it a few weeks back down the road from me in Bryan College station. But, if it is not for you, then it's not for you.

Do your friend a favor and share this thread with him. If you get cold feet it will help him negotiate with the other potential buyer.

I want it...seriously if you want a Bronco, I think you'll end up really regretting not buying this one. I can recall literally dozens of people who regret buying a project or one that needing too much work, never heard a complaint for paying a fair price for a great one.

Old cars are toys, not investments. This is not a Fidelity Latin America fund. It will cost you money. It will leave you on the side of the road. parts will break. But it will leave a smile on your face. Just buy it, get AAA, and move on! And dont buy it if you have to finance it.

If you can purchase this Bronco for $35K (the one in these attached pictures) do it. If you decide not to.... at some point in your life you will be very sorry you didn't.

When you said “I do not plan on flipping this bronco or ever selling it. I have wanted this thing for the better part of 25 years.” It showed us that you have a real sentimental attachment to this bronco. Not knowing what to do with it shows us that you’re not that attached. Those if us who love early broncos would have absolutely no problem driving that thing every day with a huge smile on our face. Proper maintenance will hold value. I’d say you have answered your own question. If you don’t want to work on it or drive it, and you won’t ever sell it....what’s the point? Honestly, you are too on the fence with a deal of a lifetime staring you in the face. It’s already been mentioned and I have offered to give it a good home.

You also said the only other person it was offered to is a family member with cash. Seems like that’s a no brainer it should stay in the family if that’s the intent.
Unless they just plan to sell it which will continue to drive up the market, selling it to someone with too much money. Hopefully the agreement is to keep it in the family unless they just don’t appreciate it which is hard for this group to comprehend.

Last words....BUY IT!

Buying a $50,000 to $60,000 dollar Bronco for $35,000 seems like a very good financial investment . Though many would have to sell another toy or 2 to keep it , from what I see that Bronco is a very good investment , but would be difficult to part with . Would be great to see some good pictures .

I am just waiting on my buddy to get back to me. He has been going through some medical issues, so I haven't really pushed him on anything. He told me I had first right of refusal, and I have no reason to think otherwise. I will be sure to get some good photos posted when I get them, and keep everyone in the loop. This guy dabbled in photography and has a ton of good pictures already, he just hasn't sent them to me. I appreciate all the help.

I saw it on FB, but not sure if the FB seller is the OP going for a quick flip, or original owner
