I just recently paid my local body shop for finishing up some work on my bronco. I pulled the engine and interior. They took care of taking everything else apart and pulling body off of the frame. They sand blasted and completely finished the frame. After that they sent it home with me and I put the suspension and brakes on and remounted the engine and transmission while it was easy to get to. When I returned the body was done. They remounted the doors, top, hood etc. All I had to do was put the new wiring harness in and start it up. Total it cost me 4k. For the paint and labor and body work.

Wow seriously? That's great. Maybe there's hope for me after all. Congrats

It all depends on what you want in the end but it looks like you have a great starting rig with lots of good parts all ready on it so you might be able to get away with limited labor and parts to keep costs down and wind up with a nice Bronco.

I dumped around $25,000 in mine but I did all the work myself except paint and media blasting the tub. If I had paid a shop it would have cost me twice as much.

Tim, you make a good point withthe man hours.
I am getting a house built as we speak, and it will have a 3rd stall for my shop, so i could do it myself. I just want to get it completed asap so i can enjoy it more. There is about 25 k in it now, and i just want it to drive a little better, (play with the suspension and wheel, tire combo) and the paint job to look GREAT, as well as a new interior, and seals. I have the entire interior and wiring out now, i guess i shoul just continue with it at home. It would be nice to get it on a rotisorrie so i could work on it easier.
