Cowl & Windshield Rise Alignment/Fitment

Hi Everyone,

I uploaded the below media which shows how I am generally trying to attach my new windshield cowl riser and horizontal cowl to the existing A-pillar end caps, kick panels and fire wall.

VIDEO EXPLANATION

  1. Passenger side: There are some flange/lips that seemed to have been previously repaired. One vertically, one horizontally, and one with a clip to hold the fender. Do they get removed? Replaced with my new cowl pieces? Or can I just lay my new pieces on top (after treating and cleaning old metal)?
  2. Driver side: It looks like a part of the old horizontal cowl is making my new cowl piece not fit. However, it seems this flange was welded to a flange on the kick panel that also holds my fender in. The new horizontal cowl mounting hole for the fender doesn't align with the old flange.
A bit lost on what else should be removed, fabricated?, and attachment points. Thank you!
