Coyote Build question

I just purchased a coyote build with a 3” body lift.

From the looks of it they installed a 3” body lift because the motor was touching or hitting the hood.

It’s on a TDK frame
35” tires
Automatic transmission.

I’d like to lower the body to 2” and the tires to 33”

Is there coyote motor mounts that can be used to lower the motor if needed?
Will this mess up all driveshaft angles?

Interested to hear what your friend says.
My feeling is it’ll be all about clearance, as to whether or not reducing the body lift will be a viable option.
Driveline angles can usually be taken care of, but what else is there about your build that we need to know LED?
Which transmission for example. What transfer case? What, if any chassis options/modifications have been made that might be in the way?
Things such as shock hoops, steering box swaps, and things like that.

Got pictures you can share? :)

Wow, that thing had some serious work done to it. Lots of nice hardware under there.
Can’t tell exactly what you need to know yet. The center console has a fancy shifter in it, but if it’s cable operated then that shouldn’t matter to the body lift.

Are you not in possession yet? Still waiting for it to be delivered or for you to go pick it up?
Either way, congratulations on the new purchase.
Give us plenty of details when you get it. Can’t wait to hear more about it.

I know a few of the high end coyote build shops do 1.5" body lifts. Then cut the middle strut out of the hood.

Ok talked to my guy. He is apparently in Mexico partying and half drunk. So I cant trust more than the first 2 sentences that came out of his mouth.
Will this mess up all driveshaft angles?
Your engine movement will not effect your driveshaft angels, suspension does.
I’d like to lower the body to 2” and the tires to 33”
he said 2 inch body lift should be fine. What you can do is put a 2 inch styrofoam on top of your intake's highest point and close hood and see if its touching hood(you can put like a dish soap on top to see if leaves a mark on hood). If its touching then try 1inch. Once you figure out how much clearance you have you can further drop body by1inch.

As @DirtDonk said above, you need to check for bottom clearances - oil pan and others. From the looks of it you have enough clearance at bottom, your issue might be at top clearing the intake and hood.

If its touching hood, I wouldn't lower motor but try to look for hood scoop options.

Since the underside of the hood has cross bracing on, it the highest point of the engine might not correlate to the smallest amount of hood clearance.

Going with this line of thinking I would go to Home Depot and look at the self stick weatherstripping like this one. I would compress the foam right there in the HD aisle and find the thickest self stick foam that stays compressed and or has a slow rebound.
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Frost-K...-Weather-Seal-Self-Stick-Tape-V734H/301319342

Cut and stack the weatherstrip until it's at least 1 inch thick and stick it to various places under the hood or engine. Then just close the hood for a few minutes and open it and look for compression.

Alternatively if you have kids or grandkids and access to some playdough you can put a big 2 inch diameter ball on the highest point and close the hood.
If you have access to foam ear plugs you can scotch tape them on top of the styrofoam block and shut the hood.

I'm doing a coyote build using the TDK frame. I started with Toms motor mounts, which sit the motor up a littler higher but didn't care as I've been told a 2" body lift, particularly on the wider frame eliminates the issues with hood clearance. Due to issues with my electronic transfer case, I decided to go with the Kincer/Krawlers Edge motor mounts and crossmember to solve that problem and the mounts do sit the engine lower and back slightly. It did force me to notch my from cross member slightly so AC compressor had proper clearance, so FYI if you run AC, but I'm super happy with the Kincer set up. Body is going on soon once some other frame mods are done so can update you as needed.

lots of interconnected stuff when you start playing body or frame lift. Tranny, mounts, wiring, fuel, steering, etc

use modeling clay on hood see what you really have

Here are a couple of pics of the coyote on a TDK frame with Kincer motor mounts and tcase crossmember….note notch under ac compressor

We ended up taking it to a bronco shop and they are fixing the issues.
Had 3” body
3 1/2” suspension

Dropped to a 2”

Changing out a few other components. As soon as I get pictures I’ll post the differences
